The highlight of the adventure is a visit to Ripa della Naca, the site of historic volcanic events that have shaped the landscape, culminating in the memorable 1928 eruption that transformed the area of Mascali.  Visit the land of Bronte Pistacchio DOP, home of pistachio cultivation on Mount Etna, located on the northwest side of the volcano. Three generations of dedicated women have nurtured these pistachio trees that are rooted in ancient volcanic soils.  This type of pistachio tree, introduced to the territory by the Arabs and exclusive to Etna, bears fruit biennially, peaking in a September harvest. This rhythm is what gives the Bronte Pistacchio DOP its distinct purple and green hues, intense flavors and high concentration in oils. We welcome you to visit this family owned farm, tour the property and indulge in a lunch celebrating the pistachio's versatile magic. This experience initiates with a pistachio themed aperitivo (finger foods) and then a lunch of various pistachio dishes paired with local wine and of course a pistachio “dolce” concluding the meal. 

Join Gelato Master Giovanna Musumeci in a historic Randazzo pasticceria,

a Gelato Master who participates in gelato competitions all over Italy. Her pistachio gelato with pistachio brittle and orange zest named “Green Gold” is highly awarded and not to miss! The gelato and granita selection is all made in-house, mostly from local, seasonal ingredients found in Sicily. 

This class takes place at a family-owned “pasticceria” pastry shop in the heart of the town of Randazzo across from the ancient catholic basilica church, Santa Maria Assunta.  Giovanna will walk you through a selection of gelato tastes. Then you will participate in making the classic Sicilian lemon granita and whatever pastry she may be working on that day. Giovanna is a lot of fun, be prepared to laugh throughout your visit and leave in high spirits! 

 Cave Ox is considered “the Umbilical Cord of Etna'' by many wine professionals and local vignerons who frequent this well known institution in the food and wine scene on the volcano. This 5-Course dinner is led by owner and sommelier, Sandro Di bella, immersing you in the enogastronomic wonders of Mount Etna.

In the heart of the medieval town of Randazzo, "San Giorgio e il Drago" restaurant celebrates Sicilian cuisine with dishes that highlight the flavors of  Etna, Nebrodi, and Alcantara territories. Founded in 1998 by the Anzalone family, it offers an authentic culinary experience, prioritizing fresh and quality ingredients prepared by the matriarch of the family as her sons run the restaurant and curate the wine program. A welcoming and cozy atmosphere offering traditional recipes is what makes this experience an essential stop for those wishing to discover authentic Sicilian gastronomy. This dinner is a coursed out typical Italian meal sequence of “antipasti”, “primi”, “secondi” and “dolci” all paired with coordinating wines.
